TYPE 7HD High Density

Southwest Fireproofing Type 7HDTM is a spray-applied, factory blended high density cementitious fireproofing for the more demanding service conditions. The higher density of Type 7HDTM produces a harder and stronger protection than normal or medium density products

Specific Uses

Type 7HDTM is formulated to provide excellent hardness and durability for use on building structures where accidental physical damage is a primary concern.

Benefits

Type 7HDTM sets and cures to form a hard and durable monolithic barrier that remains in place under harsh conditions.

Type 7HDTM is cost effective because of excellent workability, spraying and adhesion characteristics.

Typical uses for Type 7HDTM are:

  • Parking Structures
  • Processing Buildings
  • Storage Areas
  • Exposed Areas

TYPE 5MD Medium Density

Type 5MDTM is a medium density gypsum based Cementitious Fireproofing. It is used in all areas where gypsum plaster or wallboard could also be used.

Southwest Fireproofing Type 5MDTM is the higher density and strength version of the classic non-combustible vermiculite and gypsum combination used in our other Type 5TM products.

Specific Uses

Type 5MDTM is designed for use in all areas requiring a medium density product where gypsum plaster or wallboard could also be used as construction materials. Type 5MDTM is listed in all UL Fire Resistive Designs listing either    Type 5GPTM or 5EFTM.

Benefits

Type 5MDTM is the most applicator friendly medium density fireproofing product. It also sets quickly without extended cure times to give indefinite interior service expected from gypsum plaster products.

Type 5MDTM is cost effective because it is priced competitively and is simple and easy to install. The installed material is strong, durable and reliable, with physical properties that meet or exceed industry standards as shown in the data table below.

Typical uses for Type 5MDTM are:

  • Mechanical Rooms
  • Elevator Shafts
  • Enclosed Parking Areas
  • Other Semi exposed areas

TYPE 5GP Standard Density

Type 5GPTM is a general purpose, standard density gypsum based  Cementitious Fireproofing. It is used in areas of normal building atmospheres where fireproofing is within occupant reach.

Southwest Fireproofing Type 5TM products use the classic noncombustible vermiculite and gypsum combination first introduced as a spray-applied fireproofing by the Vermiculite Institute in 1959. The beneficial combination of ingredients in these formulations has been continuously proven by use in demanding applications since then.

Specific Uses

Type 5GPTM is the General Purpose formulation. It is the fireproofing of choice to protect most structural elements in buildings. The exceptions are those few electrified floor deck designs requiring Type 5EFTM.

Benefits

Type 5GPTM is user friendly. Application is economical because the product is simple and easy to mix, apply and clean up. The installed material is strong, durable and reliable. Physical properties meet or exceed industry standards as shown in the data table below.

Typical uses for Type 5GPTM are:

  • Commercial, Goverment and Manufacturing Spaces
  • Retail Stores and Malls
  • Educational and Medical Facilities
  • Hotels, casinos and resorts
