CELBAR WALL

Celbar is made from only high quality recycled paper products to create a superior sound trapping insulation when used in cavity wall applications.

Celbar is extremely effective at eliminating noise transfer from one room to another by absorbing significant sound waves entering the product. The STC ratings (Sound Transmission Coefficient) of Celbar can reach 58 depending on wall configuration and construction. An STC rating of 50 is considered inaudible to the human ear. (Rating chart) As you can see below, Celbar stands out against competing products and their ability to control noise transfer.

2 1/2" Metal Studs With 1/2" Gypsum Wallboard-both sides
Test Result
A. No sound Control material used 31 STC
B. 21/2" sound barrier batt 33 STC
21/2" sound barrier batt & 1/2" cellutex board 37 STC
11/2" Celbar Spray 49 STC

Celbar has an R-value of 3.8 per inch allowing you to design exterior wall systems with higher total R-values. An R-19 wall system can be achieved using a 6" stud cavity. However, R-value alone is not the only measure of a product's thermal effectiveness. It is documented that up to 65% of heat loss is through seams and gaps in mechanical insulation methods. (R You Getting What You’re Paying For) To obtain maximum thermal efficiency, air infiltration must be minimized. Sprayed in place, Celbar conforms to any substrate, around pipes, obstructions, and over cracks, reducing air infiltration and forming a highly efficient and effective thermal barrier. It can be sprayed to virtually any exterior stud or furred cavity.

Celbar has integrated chemical components that will not allow mold or mildew to occur, protects against insect infestation, and won't provide homes for rodents like most other insulations. Celbar carries a CLASS I Fire rating.

K-13

K-13 is the spray-applied insulation tailored to your specific project requirements for insulation (R value), noise reduction (NRC), color, durability, condensation control, texture, and aesthetics.

In addition, it usually provides these features at lower installed prices than many common systems such as rigid board and batt insulations, sprayed plasters, and acoustical ceilings. It is applied to virtually any properly prepared surface configuration of wood, steel, concrete, glass and other common construction surfaces. K-13 can be sprayed up to five inches thick overhead in one application without mechanical support. Additionally, K-13 serves as the exposed finish requiring no additional materials.

  • Available in six standard colors, K-13 can also be specified in specially matched custom colors.
  • K-13 insulates by creating dead air spaces between and within its hollow fibers.
  • For areas such as indoor pools and ice arenas, K-13 aids in condensation control.
  • The resilient fibers of K-13 absorb sound energy instead of reflecting it, reducing reverberation time and making speech and music more intelligible.
