BAYSEAL IC

Bayseal™ IC provides builders and spray foam applicators with a cost-effective and easy solution to comply with the new ICC-ES AC377 acceptance criteria approved in June 2009 and now in effect. Bayseal™ IC coating has been tested and approved for use with either Bayseal® OC (open-cell) or Bayseal® CC (closed-cell) spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation in attics or crawlspaces. Bayseal™ IC coating, manufactured by BaySystems™, which is the global polyurethane systems business of Bayer MaterialScience, is an ignition barrier alternative that can be applied at low application rates in a single coat and meet the new, more stringent test criteria.

Applied at a thickness of only five dry mils over either the Bayseal™ OC or Bayseal® CC/PP foam insulation products, Bayseal™ IC has the lowest application rate in the industry today. This coating thickness equates to a rate of only 0.6 gallons per 100 square feet, allowing rapid one-coat application and short drying times.

It is important to note that Bayseal™ IC coating is only approved for use with either the Bayseal® OC or Bayseal® CC/PP foam insulation product to meet requirements of the new acceptance criteria. Any other SPF systems must be independently tested with Bayseal™ IC coating. The complete Evaluation Services Report (ESR) from ICC-ES for Bayseal® OC is available at:
